Casuarina Beach The proposed scheme is for 18 executive homes in an exclusive gated enclave on the beachfront at Casuarina in close proximity to the proposed Casuarina Town Centre development. The community will be secured within a well landscaped gated precinct and provide easy access to the beach. Each townhouse will be over 3 levels and comprises 200-250sqm of internal living area. The original Development Approval granted in 2008 gave consent for a “Tourist Accommodation Building comprising 92 Apartments, Swimming Pool, on site facilities and Basement Car Parking”. This development consent will lapse in 2013. A Section 96 modification was approved in December 2008 expanding the zoning to permit permanent residential use as well as tourist accommodation, or a mixture of both. A new draft LEP is currently on exhibition; upon gazettal the subject land will be zoned R1.
